Willis Joseph Jonah Wilson enlisted at Camp Mangum on 15 September 1862 at age 18 and died six months later at Charleston, SC on 7 March 1863 of a disease. Son of Elder James Wilson (Baptist Minister and farmer) and Charity Oquin.
Capt. O.(Oscar) R. Rand enlisted Sidney Williams on 19 August 1861 at age 18. He was present until captured at New Bern, NC on 14 March 1862 and confined at Ft. Columbus in New York Harbor. John B. Whitley enlisted at age 18 on 15 September 1862 at Camp Mangum, Raleigh, NC. On 31 December 1862, he was sick in a hospital in Charleston, SC. He died around 17 to 19 March 1863 of a disease at an unreported place. Son of Bryant Whitley and Nancy Thomas.
William H. Turner enlisted on 18 September 1861. He was captured at Cold Harbor, VA around 31 May and 1 June 1864. He was confined at Point Lookout, Maryland by 11 June 1864 but was transferred to Elmira, NY on 12 July 1864. He died as a Prisoner of War at Elmira, NY of pleuritis. Location [...]
