John Strain

John Strain a resident and a farmer in Wake County enlisted at age 34 in Johnston County on 2 May 1862 as a Sergeant.  He was present until killed in action at Spotsylvania Court House, VA on 15 May1864 leaving a wife, Caroline Adams Strain, and three children, James, Robert, and Hellen.


John Partin

John Partin enlisted on 18 August 1863 and was present until captured at Ft. Fisher, NC on 15 January 1865.  He was confined at Elmira, NY where he died on 10 March 1865 (Grave No. 1875) as a Prisoner of War of diarrhea.


Gaston Lassiter

Gaston Lassiter enlisted in Auburn, NC on 18 September 1861.  He was hospitalized at Richmond, VA on 20 May 1864 with a gunshot wound of the thigh.  He died of his wounds in Richmond, VA on 23 June 1864.  Private Lassiter was the son of Margaret Lassiter.


Cornelius Jordan

Cornelius Jordan enlisted on 18 September 1861 and was mustered in as Sergeant.  He was captured at Roanoke Island, NC on 8 February 1862 and paroled at Elizabeth City, NC on 21 February 1862.  He returned to duty on or about 15 September 1862, reduced to rank in September 1862 – February 1863, and again [...]


William H. Broughton

William H. Broughton enlisted on 10 June 1861 at Holly Springs by O. R. Rand and was present until his death four months later at Carolina City near Morehead City, NC.  He died on 14 October 1861.  Son of Jessey/Jesse  Broughton & Matilda Bagwell
