Jeffrey Stephen Webb graduated from Wake Christian Academy. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps on 6 April 2006.  He was assigned to the 1st Fleet Anti-terrorism Security Team (FAST) Company, which was part of the Marine Corps Security Force Battalion based in Norfolk, Virginia and which was part of II Marine Expeditionary Force based at Camp Lejeune, NC.  LCpl Webb was a designated marksman.  He was in the gun turret of a humvee that overturned following a nighttime of live fire training exercises at Fort A. P. Hill in Virginia when he was killed.  LCpl Webb is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Webb, Jr. of Garner and his grandfathers were: James Everette Webb, Sr. of Selma, NC, US Navy, Korean War veteran and James Roland Bailey of Selma, NC, US Army, WW II veteran.
