Quintin R. Poole enlisted on 1 July 1863 and was present until captured at Cold Harbor, VA around  31 May 1864  or 1 June 1864.  He was confined at Point Lookout, MD by 11 June 1864 before being transferred to Elmira, NY on 12 July 1864.  He died as a Prisoner of War at Elmira, NY of typhoid fever and was buried at grave #530.  Private Poole was married to Mary Ann Green and his parents were Ransom Poole and Salley Lassiter.  His brothers, Langdon Poole and Hinton Poole, died in the Civil War as well as his brother-in-laws, John W. Bunch and Bryant Harrison.
